Release Notes
SDR 83592 In earlier versions of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, when two repetitions or choice controls were mapped to the same data
instance, the data instance was overwritten by the second control.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, this issue is resolved.
SDR 82483 In earlier versions of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, a data component that had a string as the primary key could not be
created by passing a date in the create() method. The application was terminated and the ClassCastException was generated.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, this issue is resolved.
SDR 82139 In earlier versions of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, when a keyed data component was deleted and at the same time was
being modified from another execution point of the application, the application was silently terminated, with no error passed to
the application.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, this issue is resolved.

In earlier versions of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, if an error occurred in a BlackBerry MDS Studio™ Application (for
example, a security violation resulting from a policy change) while the application was accessing data stored on the BlackBerry
device, the application might not have been able to retrieve the data again and might have terminated unexpectedly.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, this issue is resolved.
SDR 81096 In earlier versions of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, when an application was running and was simultaneously being
upgraded, the upgrade of that application failed.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, this issue is resolved.
SDR 79628 In earlier versions of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, a BlackBerry MDS Application defining an edit box with the entry format
“*X” would not permit characters to be typed in that edit box.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, this issue is resolved.
SDR 79465 In earlier versions of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, the Application Logic Error java.lang.illegalArgumentException exception
was generated when a global variable of type string was initialized using only white spaces and was supplied as an initial value
for a label.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, this issue is resolved.
SDR 78068 In earlier versions of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, when you mapped a screen control to a global variable of type long, and
a large value was typed in the control, the global variable was not initialized with the correct value.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1, this issue is resolved.
SDR 76884 In earlier versions of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, you could not extend BlackBerry MDS JavaScript objects (for example,
Screen, DeviceInfo, and so on) with additional application-specific properties.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, this issue is resolved.
SDR 70249 In earlier versions of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, when BlackBerry MDS Runtime data was restored while the BlackBerry
device options were on the screen, a Null Pointer Exception was thrown.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, this issue is resolved.
SDR 56784 In earlier versions of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, if users were running the BlackBerry MDS Runtime on BlackBerry Device
Software Version 4.0, the users might have experienced the following issues:
• The font assigned to an edit box was ignored (for example, phone, messages).
• Edit boxes displayed as the same height regardless of the font.
• The font color assigned by a style was ignored on a text field with active text (for example, messages, phone, URL, and so on).
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, this issue is resolved.
BlackBerry MDS Services
SDR 84164 In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1, the BlackBerry MDS Services installer failed when the BlackBerry MDS Services were
installed on a computer that was in a network isolated by a server proxy.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, the BlackBerry MDS Services installer no longer fails.
SDR 82893 In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1, the BlackBerry Controller failed to start after the BlackBerry MDS Services were
upgraded.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, this issue is resolved.
SDR 81041 In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1, you did not have control over BlackBerry MDS Services logging (for example,
changing the logging level) through the BlackBerry Configuration Panel.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, you can use the BlackBerry Configuration Panel to control BlackBerry
MDS Services logging.
SDR 80935 In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1, if your database environment was Microsoft SQL Server and you attempted to install
the BlackBerry MDS Services on a named instance, the installation did not complete successfully.
In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1 SP1 and later, this issue is resolved.
