Firmware = SFI + Application.

Blackberry Firmware Means SFI file + Application of the Device (SFI + Application

= Firmware)

MFI = MFI is not firmware. MFI is used to unlock or hack that device so we can get

access to the device.

What are MFI and SFI?

SFI is for to flash factory os

MFI: In the PB term, it is called as "STP". It can be interpreted as Factory OS

(FOS). To make the Blackberry in the STP Mode (Factory OS); you need MFI file.

When You do FOC, You need MFI file. MFI file is not the part of Firmware. So, you

do not find it in the Firmware Bundle but you will find in the PB Tool Support Site.

You have to download it seperately according to your device (Blackberry Mobile) to

flash your BB Device to make it Factory Default. In short, we use MFI file to make

the device Factory Default.

SFI: SFI is also called radio file to integrate with *.cod file .The SFI is related with

*.cod Inside which have Operating System. SFI file is used in special condition like

Reset MEP, Auto LCD etc. In Short, we we SFI file to repair the different problems of

Device software.
