With this option selected, a sync error will notify you with a message
that must be dismissed (there will be an indication of the error in
the status bar as well).

This option is a bit more subtle; the sync error will only be referenced
in the status bar.

6.7. File Synchronization
If you have a Windows Mobile Professional (touch) device, you can use File Synchronization
(part of Mobile Device Center on Windows 7 and 8) as an optional alternative to SyncPro
to keep the wallet files on your Windows PC in sync with the wallet files on your Windows Mo-
bile (touch) device.
We strongly recommend using SyncPro rather than File Synchronization. Although File
Synchronization has its uses, SyncPro does a much better job of making sure that all of your
changes get saved. Only use File Synchronization if you cannot use SyncPro.
To set up your Windows PC and mobile device for File Synchronization, follow these steps:
• Enable File Synchronization. In the Windows Mobile Device Center on Windows 7 or
8, you can turn on File Synchronization from the Mobile Device Settings. Select Change
Content Sync Settings and then check the box for Files and click the Save button.
• Store your wallet files in the My Documents folder on your Windows Mobile (touch)
device (which is the default location for wallet files) or on your desktop store the wallet
file in the <devicename> My Documents folder, where <devicename> is the name of
your device.
When you synchronize your device using ActiveSync or the Windows Mobile Device Center's
File Synchronization, the wallets are compared and the wallet with the most recent date re-
places the wallet with the oldest date. Please note that File Sync cannot combine data the
way SyncPro does. It simple keeps the most recent version of your wallet file and copies
that over the oldest version. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you use SyncPro
rather than File Sync.
Once you have this set up, your wallet files will be synchronized whenever you synchronize
your device using ActiveSync or the Windows Mobile Device Center. If eWallet is running
when you synchronize, you may get a message that the wallet file is in use. If this happens,
lock your wallet file and synchronize again.
